Summer holiday club at Lowerplace!

Holiday club banner

School staff will be running a holiday club during the first two weeks of the summer holiday, from Monday 25th July to Friday 5th August.

Activities will include: Art and crafts : Baking : Games : Sports

The club will run Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:15pm, and costs £10.00 per child, per week. We can only accept bookings for a full week, not for a partial week. All attendees must book and pay in advance – we are not able to provide refunds if your child does not attend, and we cannot admit any child that has not pre-booked.

The club is open to children who attend Lowerplace Primary School. If you have other children at another primary school, there may be space for them to attend as well. Please note, we can only accommodate PRIMARY aged children (i.e. Reception to Year 6) as we do not have the facilities or staffing for younger or older children.

You must provide a packed lunch for your child. The school kitchen will not be available for use and we will have no way to provide a meal for your child. A healthy snack will be offered to children each day.

If you would like to book your child/ren a place at the club, please pick up a registration form from either school office.

Places are limited so please apply as soon as possible. School will send you written confirmation of your child’s place before the end of term. You do not need to pay when you book, but payment must be made before the end of the summer term to guarantee your child’s place.

And so we begin…

Welcome back everybody!

It’s the second day of term and we are getting straight back into the swing of things here in the office. It has been very busy as we have admitted 85 new little one’s into our Foundation Stage, as well as a handful of new children into our other year groups.

A huge welcome to all of our new children and parents alike! We are very happy to have you with us. Don’t forget that we are always available to help if you have any questions during those first days with us.

We hope you all had a fantastic Summer holiday. Here at school lots of work went on – new windows throughout Key Stage 1 & 2, a new gym climbing frame in KS1, as well as lots of teachers working hard at moving classrooms and making them perfect for your arrival back at school. There were also lots of lovely boxes to unpack full of new supplies for the classrooms – pens, pencils, atlases, calculators, craft paper, books and games. It was like Christmas a hundred times over! At one point I was worried that we might disappear underneath all of those boxes!

Well, onwards and upwards!
Miss Healey

Now you see it…

It looks like the sunshine may well be here for a couple of days!

* Please make sure that you apply sunscreen before coming to school, as even a short amount of time in the sun can cause skin sensitivity and sunburn.

* It is also a good idea to have your water bottle in school.

Miss Healey’s Top Tip: Half fill your bottle with cold water before bed, and pop it in the freezer. In the morning top it up with more cold water. You will have icy water at hand all day!

* You should also bring a sun hat to school on days where it is warm.

Be safe and enjoy it while you can! Miss H
