Starting Primary School in 2017?
Children born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 are due to start primary school in September 2017.
All parents of children born in this period should have received a letter in the post from the Local Authority encouraging them to apply for a school place. The application cycle is now open, and all applications must be submitted to the Local Authority by 15th January 2017. If you have not received this letter, please contact the Admissions Team on 01706 925982.

Pre-school children are welcome to attend with their parents. No appointment is necessary. Our Open Day is on Tuesday 15th November 2016 at either 10am or 5pm

We’re holding Lowerplace Sports Day this year on Tuesday 16th June. The event will be held on the school field.
The timings for the event are as follows:
Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1: 9.00am until 11.45am
Key Stage 2: 1pm until 3pm
The Commando Joes’ team will be there too and bringing an assault course to the games again!
We will endeavour to proceed with the games come rain or shine. If we are lucky enough to have a sunny day, please ensure your child has suitable protection from the sun, including a hat, sun lotion and water. As always, please ensure that your child has the appropriate PE kit with them for the day (white t-shirt, shorts and pumps) as they will be unable to participate if they do not have the correct clothing.
We’re holding an Open Day for parents of pupils who want to join our Reception classes in September 2015. There are two sessions on Wednesday 26th November, one at 10:00am and one at 4:00pm. Each session will last about an hour and will start in the Infant building on Charter Street.
If you have a child who will be starting school in September 2015, please come along for a session, where you’ll have a tour of the whole school and the chance to speak to the staff.
If you know anyone who has applied for a Reception place at Lowerplace, but doesn’t have a child here yet, please let them know about the Open Day – we love to show off our fantastic school!
You’re very welcome to bring your child with you, so they can have a look at their new school, but if you’d rather come along without them, that’s fine too.
Our Reception childre will be visiting the Palace Theatre in Manchester on Thursday 22nd May 2014 to watch a performance of ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ based on the award winning book of the same name by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks. This will be an excellent opportunity for your child to experience a theatre performance of a story that we all enjoy as well as develop their speaking, listening and story language skills.
All children will have lunch in school as normal on the day.
The cost of this visit is £8.50 which will cover entrance to the theatre. The school will subsidise the visit by providing the cost for the coach to and from the theatre therefore we are asking for a donation for this amount from each child to enable the visit to go ahead.
Please send payment and the completed consent form in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name, class, amount sent in and which trip they are going on. Any monies not sent in with this information may result in lost payments.
If you have any questions about this visit, please do not hesitate to ask your child’s teacher. Please note that on this occasion parent helpers will not be required.
