30th September – Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning!

2016-macmillan-logo

On Friday 30th September we will be joining in on the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

We will be serving coffee /juice in our Key Stage 1 Hall (Charter Street) from 9.15 till 10.30am and there will be a cake stall where we are asking parents and staff to bring in cakes to sell to raise more money. Donation of cakes can be sent in all this week to the office orclass teacher.

At break time we will be selling biscuits made by our amazing team in the School Kitchen to the children at 30p each. This will also make them feel part of our amazing support for helping people affected by cancer.

Last year we had a wonderful response and it was a very enjoyable morning. Please come along and help even more people living with cancer by making this our Biggest Coffee Morning yet!

Friday 18th December – Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day!

text_santa_logo

We’re excited for this Friday – not just because it’s the last day of term, but also because it’s Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day!

We love any excuse to dress up at Lowerplace, so we’re asking everyone to contribute £1 to the Text Santa campaign, which this year is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save The Children, and to come to school in something festive.

Don’t worry if you don’t already have a Christmas jumper – your sparkliest party clothes (or even your non-sparkly party clothes!) will look just as good!

We’ll also be selling raffle tickets all this week for the chance to win Cadbury’s selection boxes – there are two prizes per class, so the odds are pretty good. Raffle tickets will be on sale in classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, for 20p each or 5 for £1.

Please send the money in to your child’s class teacher with your child, NOT to the office.

Woohoo! Well done Lowerplace!

Well done to everybody at Lowerplace School, and a massive thank you to all the Parents and Carers who donated cakes and biscuits for sale and who came to the coffee morning on 25th September. With your outstanding support we raised an amazing

Our coffee morning will be held in the Key Stage 2 Hall from 9:15am to 10:30 this Friday.

We’re asking for donations of cakes and biscuits to sell at break time in Foundation, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. Children can bring in 20p to buy a treat during their break.

Please bring in any donations to the school offices before Friday 26th September.

We will also have information for adult learning. This will be a great opportunity for you as parents to see what school has to offer and also for you to take part in activities.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday.

MacMillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Today we took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, a fundraising campaign from MacMillan Cancer Support.

MacMillan are a charity that provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support for people living with cancer.

We are so proud of all of our parents and children who kindly donated cakes, buns and biscuits – quite a few of them home-made! We had a good turn out at the coffee morning; I think the tea, cakes and good company were a welcome sight after being caught in the atrocious rain on the school run!

You will be pleased to know that in total we raised a whopping £328.08! We are extremely grateful for your kindness and generosity, you have all helped to make a difference.

For those of you who entered into the MacMillan raffle, they will draw the winners after the 8th of November and contact you directly if you have won.

Thank you again everyone.
