Industrial Action 27th June – PARTIAL CLOSURE

As we indicated on the letter sent home on Friday 14th June, you will be aware that the NASUWT and the NUT have balloted their members for industrial action.

The school has received notification that the above trade unions which represent teachers within the school intend to take industrial action on Thursday 27th June 2013.

As staff within the school are members of these unions the school will be affected by industrial action.

We have undertaken a risk assessment for the school and have made the decision to partially close the school for pupils in the following classes:-

Class 1a, 2a, 3a, 4b, 5b & 6a.

Your child/ren should return to school on Friday 28th June 2013.

Please note that all siblings who’s classes are unaffected must attend school as normal otherwise they will be noted as an unauthorised absence.

Any absences either the day before or after the strike will also be noted as an unauthorised absence.

We apologise for any inconvenience this industrial action may cause you.

Young Voices

Young Voices 2013

On Friday 18th January, 24 children from the School Choir will be taking part in the Young Voices at the MEN Arena.  Mrs Hussain and the children have been practising a long list of songs from Disco Fever to Let It Be twice a week since September and now with the concert getting closer they have been working extremely hard and practicing everyday!

The children sound amazing and  Mrs Hussain has promised to let the children sing in a school assembly next week so the whole school can hear how fabulous they are!

Mrs Hussain will be taking lots of pictures of the event and will be posting them on her Blog so keep checking the School Blog!

And this week’s “Best Attendance Winners” are….

Ok, so is anyone else getting deja vu? Another fantastic result for these three classes, two weeks in a row!

The Punctuality Awards this week go to Rb (4 weeks in a row), 2b (2 weeks in a row) and in KS2 it goes to 3b, 4b and 6b. KS2 – I have to say I am really impressed at how you are pulling together and improving your punctuality!

Well done everybody! Miss H.

And this week’s “Best Attendance” Winners are…..

What can I say? Everyone has done brilliantly again, but huge congratulations to Class 4b in particular who I know have worked so hard for this. Keep it up! More of this and you could work towards being the overall term winners at Easter.

The Punctuality Award this week goes to Classes Rb, 1b and 5b. For the moment we will continue to announce the winners in the Friday assembly, but soon you will see a very special display in each Key Stage Hall that will track which class is winning the race towards having the best punctuality.
