Dinners & Free School Meal Information

School Meals

At Lowerplace School we offer a wonderful varied menu, prepared lovingly by our Catering Team.

Below you can see and print off an example of our menu, which runs on a 4 week cycle. Dinners cost £10.00 per week and are payable each Monday in advance. Dinner Money Envelopes are available free of charge at the school office.

Packed Lunches

We are very proud to hold a Healthy Schools Status, and packed lunches sent from home should reflect this. We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines;

* Try something different – sandwiches, crackers and cheese, samosas, pasta salad, tortilla wraps etc.
* Please do not send sweets and chocolate in your child’s lunch box.
* Encourage your child to eat some fruit with their lunch.
* Do not send drinks in glass bottles.

Free School Meals

Do you think you may be entitled to Free School Meals? The link below will take you to Rochdale Council’s Revenues & Benefits page, where you can check your eligibility.

Rochdale MBC Free School Meal Information

From September 2014 all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in state-funded schools in England will be eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM). If you are in receipt of any of the following benefits, you will still need to apply to Rochdale Council to receive the UIFSM, however if you are not entitled to any benefits you will be granted the UIFSM by the school.

If you are in receipt of benefits, please ensure that you complete the application form. Your child’s eligibility will attract additional funding for our school.
